Trauma & PTSD
Anxiety and trauma don’t always look like you expected. For some, trauma manifests as depression. For others, it feels like relentless worry, panic, or a sense of powerless. Past experiences can shape your life for years—even decades—without you realizing how much they were holding you down.
“Trauma-informed” is a term that gets misused today. It is not a type of therapy but an approach. We work with clients at their own pace. Some are ready to talk about their deepest pain in the very first session. Others need time to build trust before they feel safe enough to open up. A good therapist knows when to slow down, when to hold steady, and when to gently push forward—all with the goal of helping you make progress.
We believe therapy should make your life better today while equipping you for tomorrow. Spending session after session digging into the past is valuable, but not if you are increasingly struggling to cope with your work, family, and relationships in the present. We will help you sever the tie between “there and then” and “here and now.”
Together, we’ll work toward helping you recognize your own power so the past no longer controls your present or shapes your future.
